Jewellery

Explore the materials, methods and processes behind jewellery design with our range of courses for all ages and stages of learning across our centres.

Our experienced team of tutors are jewellery designers and makers themselves, and bring a wealth of knowledge to a variety of disciplines. Students enjoy a relaxed and supportive environment in which to learn new skills and develop existing talents.

We specialise in metalwork, beading, forging, enamelling, keum-boo, coppers and silversmithing, casting, acrylics, stone setting, aluminium printing, mould making, resins, laser cutting, etching and design.

Free qualifications for 16 to 18 year olds

Get started on your jewellery design journey at our North Kensington Centre. You’ll learn a range of fundamental jewellery and silversmithing skills in our project based, hands on course. Our expert tutors will guide you through developing ideas, practical skills and knowledge through bench work, drawing, the study of design principles and help you to build connections with the industry.

Do you want to take your jewellery making to the next level? Certificate Level 1 is a year-long beginners’ course to give you a firm grounding in jewellery techniques. Our intermediate Certificate Level 2 course will prepare you to start a business or apply to higher education.

Awards, competitions and partnerships

We encourage our students to take part in the biannual V&A ‘Inspired By’ competition.

Exhibitions

When you study Jewellery making at Morley you have opportunities to exhibit work in the college’s exhibition spaces, including the jewellery section’s Barbara Cristie Case, the Foyer Cases and Morley Gallery.

We also like to exhibit externally and we have shown our students’ jewellery at New Designers and other venues such as Elizabeth House.

We collaborate with Morley’s Textiles and Fashion department every year in our annual catwalk show.
