Wire Sculpture Taster

Come and explore working with wire in both 2D and 3D. In this course, you will learn about the properties of different types of wires and ways to create artworks with them. You will learn to control wire including bending and joining and go home with one or two small pieces. All levels welcome including Beginners with all equipment and materials provided.

Group and 1:1 tutor demonstration, guidance, student practice and development of individual projects in Wire.

Learning Outcomes

  • 01: To understand some of the different metals commonly used in wire and their different properties.
  • 02: To be able to control bends in wire using hands and tools to create 2D designs.
  • 03: To explore a variety of ways to join wires.
  • 04: To design and make a 3D wire sculpture.
  • 05: To understand the place of wire sculpture in art and what can be achieved in this medium.

None - all levels welcome including Beginners.

What you need to know before you enrol

Pelham Hall Sculpture Studio is located offsite in the Pelham Hall Sculpture studio on Lambeth Walk 5 min walk from the College.

What to bring to class

Strong closed shoes or boots and protective clothing.
