Sculpture with Sheet Copper - Morley College London

Sculpture with Sheet Copper

Students will learn to cut, shape, join and colour sheet copper. We will use specialist hammers, chisels, punches as well bigger pieces of machinery available in the studio. Students will explore the ancient arts of chasing and repousse as well as folding and joining pieces using hot or cold methods to create relief or 3D sculpture. These sculptures can be coloured using heat or chemicals. Students will have time to experiment with techniques and work on their own projects. We will provide each student with a 400mm square of copper as well as pieces for samples. All levels welcome including Beginners.
