Class format and activities

Practise speaking, listening, reading and writing. Complete grammar exercises. Listen for specific information and reading for comprehension. Revise topics from previous years and expand. Learn some cultural aspects of France and other French speaking countries. Study some regions and popular places. Watch videos with/without transcript.

Learning Outcomes

  • 01: Expand vocabulary: Read texts from different sources related to everyday topics and more specialized vocabulary (e.g., culture, society etc)
  • 02: Enhance Fluency: Build conversational confidence by discussing a wide range of topics, including cultural events, holidays etc
  • 03: Improve Writing skills: writer longer passages and emails, giving opinions, asking for facilities required etc.
  • 04: Consolidate listening skills: listen to videos and understand the gist
  • 05: Grammar: revise and practice descriptions of events, using all tenses

Course entry requirements

This course is aimed at students who have studied French at Stage 3 Unit 2 or have studied French for over 2 years.

Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class time.

Text book will be discussed and confirmed with students at the start of the course. Please have pen, paper, and dictionary paper or app on phone.
