The Humanities Diploma programme is the most suitable route for you if you are looking to go on to study a degree in subjects such as: History, English and Philosophy. On the Humanities Diploma, you will study core modules in Philosophy, History, Creative Writing and Literature as well as Study Skills, which will enable you to develop the essential skills required to be a successful undergraduate. You will receive extensive support throughout the course, including guidance on completing your UCAS application.

This is a fast-paced course and you will be expected to have excellent attendance and independent study routines. Class activities and format depend on students having completed homework in a timely manner. Collaborative study within lessons is also encouraged. Delivery of the course is in-person at our Waterloo centre. Course resources and materials will be available online through MS Teams.

You must be aged 19 or over. You should have GCSE English Grades A-C / 4-9 or Level 2 equivalent. GCSE Maths Grades A-C / 4-9 or Level 2 equivalent is desirable. You will need these two qualifications in addition to the Access to HE Diploma to progress to most university undergraduate programmes.
This course requires dedication and commitment if you are going to succeed. You will be expected to do regular reading and written work and attend all classes. Your course is timetabled for two days a week and runs from the beginning of September to the end of June. The Access course is an intensive course that will prepare you for the demands of a university degree course in just nine months. Before applying for the course, it is therefore essential to think how you are going to balance work, family and social life with your Access studies.
You need to have access to notebook and pens. You also need to have a laptop and reliable WiFi for completion of assignments and for independent study. As a student of Morley College, you have access to Microsoft 365, including Office 365 and Teams. course.
The course will prepare you for a range of Higher Education courses. You can typically progress to degrees in Psychology, Law and Linguistics amongst many others.
