The one-year course is ideal for anyone who is interested in progressing into Higher Education, and a career within the Creative industries. The Access Programme is designed specifically for Adult Learners who may have some, or no background in Creative Industries, but are keen to learn and develop a portfolio ready for the next step into Higher Education. This practical studio based course will immerse you in the basics of Art, Design and Media, so you can quickly find your place and develop your skills. Through the course you’ll be able to specialise into a pathway area and will have specialist input to help you create outcomes aligned to your chosen pathway.In addition, you will develop personal skills including how to research, structure your ideas and plan your time, so you can get the most from your studies. You will also be supported to Research, apply and prepare for your Higher Education Interviews, and build a personal portfolio of work.

This course will be delivered in our studios, where you can take part in practical activities, critiques with peers and seminars. You will be in a supported environment where you can explore your ideas and consider your individual route. The briefs will allow you to test new ways of working, and try exciting and diverse practices to help you find your place within the Creative Industries.

You must be aged 19 or over. You must present a portfolio of work for evaluation at your interview.
• You must also have achieved a minimum grade of C/4 at GCSE level in English or equivalent, be working at that level or have the capacity and time to work towards it. You may be required to sit a short English assessment. Maths GCSE at C/4 or above is desirable.
