Morley hosts Sustainability Conference for Further Education Sector

Last week, Morley College London hosted a Further Education sustainability conference at the newly modernised Emma Cons Hall.  The session was run by Sustainability Support for Further Education (SS4FE), bringing together representatives of environmental organizations and colleges from across England for an afternoon of ideas, action and collaboration.

Vice-Principal for Curriculum, Bushra Iqbal, who leads on Sustainability at Morley, welcomed guests.  Bushra introduced Morley’s own journey highlighting pledges on visible net-zero commitment, curriculum integration and culture change, alongside recent activity such as Sustainability Week and the expansion of Carbon Literacy training for students and staff. Morley also showcased new community assets including the Sustainable Teaching Garden and a beekeeping project.

The programme featured rapid-fire best-practice showcasing reducing emissions in FE colleges and case studies of whole-college approaches and practical steps to embed green skills, biodiversity and climate resilience.

Working in partnership with like-minded organisations,  Morley is committed to achieving its target of reaching net zero by 2040.
