Goldfinger Design returns to Chelsea 3D Makerspace to train next generation Furniture Makers

Next week, Morley is welcoming back Goldfinger design to our 3-D Makerspace for their Furniture Makers Traineeship – following a successful pilot course run at the Chelsea Centre for Creative Industries earlier this summer.

The dynamic five-day workshop blends woodworking with employability training for 15 talented young people from Kensington and Chelsea, and Morley College London.  Led by master craftsman Caspar Hornak, trainees will spend the first three days learning the fundamentals of woodworking and crafting their own wooden stools from scratch.

The trainees will be given a two-day Employability Skills Masterclass with Morley’s partners at Unloc, to sharpen communication, leadership, public speaking, and CV-building skills.   The grand finale will see the trainees pitch their creative project and business idea to Goldfinger’s very own “Dragons’ Den” – made up of partners and supporters of Future Makers.

Morley’s partnership with Goldfinger is one of a growing number of workshops and clasess in the new 3D Makerspace at Chelsea, launched in April this year.
